Go North - Copenhagen Fashion Summit

Posted on 27 June 2016

In May SVILU headed north to Denmark to attend the world's largest sustainable fashion event, The Copenhagen Fashion Summit. Selected as a finalist in the Denim Challenge – SVILU designed a one-of-a-kind look made from 100% recycled denim for the event.

Inspired by a series of botanical cyanotypes by early female photographer Anna Atkins, SVILU reimagined these works on recycled denim. Ghostly white silhouettes of flowers were set against an indigo background, a nod to the fleeting and fragile state of our environment.

Hosted by Amber Valletta and Derek Blasberg, the summit brought together the leading voices in responsible fashion, from Patagonia's Rick Ridgeway, to New York Times Fashion Director Vanessa Friedman and activist Livia Firth.
